It is important to know how to clean gold jewelry so that the jewelry does not become dull and can be used with more shine.

Many women, and even men, use gold jewelry, such as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings.

How to Clean Gold Jewelry

1. Dish Soap

The first way is to use dish soap to clean dull gold jewelry. Dish soap has surfactants that can remove the dirt that sticks to the gold.

You do this by mixing dish soap with warm water, then soaking the gold jewelry for 15 minutes, then brushing it with a toothbrush until clean. Wash and dry with a soft microfiber cloth.

2. Toothpaste

Besides being able to clean teeth, toothpaste can be used to clean gold jewelry. You do this by mixing toothpaste with water, then brush the gold carefully using a soft toothbrush. After that rinse clean and dry with a soft cloth.

3. Shampoo

The next method is using shampoo. Shampoo has a cleaning agent that can remove dirt that sticks to gold jewelry.

Mix 2 tablespoons of shampoo with warm water, then soak the gold jewelry for 20 minutes, brush gently until clean, rinse and dry.

4. Baking Soda

Baking soda is a kitchen ingredient that can be used to clean gold jewelry. Soak gold jewelry in a mixture of 60 ml of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of water. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.

5. Alcohol

The next way to clean gold is with alcohol. Soak gold jewelry in alcohol, then brush thoroughly, rinse under running water and dry with microfiber cloth.

6. Ammonia

Ammonia is a chemical that can help clean gold . You do this by mixing ammonia and water in a ratio of 1:6, then soak the gold jewelry for 1 minute.

Make sure your hands don’t touch the ammonia mixture. Use tweezers to pick up the gold and a toothbrush to clean the gold. Then rinse with clean water.

7. Boiling Water

The last way to easily clean gold jewelry at home is with boiling or hot water. However, boiling water can only be used for cleaning pure gold jewelry.

Soak pure gold jewelry in boiling water, then scrub the gold with a brush and dry.
